maurauder skill-4 (i got about 12 mio sp and playing eve for about a year)

ok, here we go, some explanitions why i fitted what, and sry4 my not so perfect english :D

i'm flying lvl4s in high sec, so theres no need to fit 4 pvp situations. resis are fittet
rat specific for each mission, 2x2 hardeners, but most missis in my region are kin+therm.

2 salv+1 trac for salvaging/looting on the fly to improve isk/time, works quite good to keep
up with the speed i kill the rats

i'm using pulse instead of beams because of the higher dps, rats vary in range from 1-51km max,
+ i try to avoid shooting mobs out of 40km tractor range.

to cover 1-51km i use a trackingcomp+range script, optimum range with amarr radios results in 52km.

theres no need to be able to hit ships smaller than bs with my pulses, my drones keep up with the bc's
and smaller ships as i kill the bs's and max kill speed is limited to salvage time anyway.

crystals in use are
1-25 multi
26-34 standar
35-42 infra
43-51 radio

armor rep is perma active to avoid forgetting the damn thing while salvaging :D

any mission (triggert right) can be done easyly with this setting, except angel extra bonus pocket and worlds collide, last pocket.
in these 2 situations, i have to fit an additional t2 large armor rep instead of 1 of the heat sinks, to
keep up with the large burst dmg.
i do this 4 worlds collide, but i dont jump into angel extra bonus gate, becouse i have to fly to
a station, refit to omni, fly to the mission again, jump5 pocket gates and only make bounty a bit above the avrage...
in my option not worth the time, the bonus pocket isnt needed anyway to complete the mission.

only improvements im going to make, is a slight better armor rep for about 800mio and t2 pulse, if i should ever invest 70 days of skilling....well and a nightmare with an active shild+tach fitting to do missis with friends..

any suggestions or comments to my paladin are welcome, especially if they improve isk/time ;)

Buy t2 megapulse or use faction tachyons.
Really.

I would recommend a faction web over a faction TC, but its a rather moot point anyway... with pulses, the TC is nice for range. With tachys, the domi web gives you the ability to engage just about anything anywhere anyway.

i see your point.
tachs with a web combi should be worth a try

last time i used tachs was in 0.0 while ratting, and i missed the rat bs quite often, but i had no web or web bonus ship in that situation.

but i will test your suggestion this day. i'll buy amarr tachs to avoid skilling t2s, i'll need those faction tachs for my nightmare later anyway.

I would still suggest T2 megapulses, and change 2 hardeners for 1 more heatsink and a EANM 2. The extra dps (and range with scorch) will help you do missions faster, and the tank is still good enough.

The extra range is good for taking out frigates cruisers quickly while you let the BSs come within tractor range.

Other than that it is an expensive but good fit imo.

tachys do that dps out to about 50km.
Megapulse do better dps to about. ... 25km.

with the web, you can hit cruisers more or less anywhere from 5-> 100km :)

Also, i dont know how much that tairei's armor rep is, but it should fit with AN tachys... I use t2 everything, except a faction web and amarr navy rep, and that fits with t2 tachys.
Perhaps train awu5? Oh wait...
I dunno i guess.

@maraai

t2 pulse woud be a great improvement, only reason i dont wanne do that yes, is that after one year of eve, there are still so many different skill i like to lear, to keep the game fun, and skilling t2 pulses would be a 70 day action...but well, this sure will be my target for the next months.

reducing the def by 2 hardeners to go for more dps would probably result in a more hectic gameplay.
most time, i got all hands full with switching targets/targeting/looting/f1-f4.

but you are right, the higher dps and range with scorch would fasten missions.

maybe i'll go with one more heat sink and a low slot module to get 2 more targets (forgot the name). sounds strange, but 2 more targets would be a great improvement for me, to make those boring l4 isk runs more comfortable.

@lance

yup, thats true, pulse at max range with radios do minimal dmg.

my point is, that there are more rats circling you at 5-25km than at 26-51.

but saving time, by not having to switch crystals that often should really improve my real dps a little bit.

ah, and taires rep is same as amarr , but 90 base rep/cycle more, sells for about 250mio isk and with ship and rig bonus worth the 150 more than the amarr imo.

you dont really need the three computers youknow... then again, the tank you have is probably enough given the gankage.

you guys were right, i've run 3 missions with tachs so far, and they really do more real dmg.

the fact, that i can use multi crystals all the time, and only have to switch to ultras for those rare 51 orbit rats, makes running missions while salvaging much more comfortable. switching crystals @ 4 lasers was not that much pain, but still anoying.

but i havent found a real use for the webber yet.
there is still no need to hit cruiser and small ships at close range, my drones take care of them, and if there are so many, that my tachs have popped out all the bs and get bored, mostly i have so many wrecks in space, that salvaging is anyway the most time consuming factor.
in those cases i let my drones do the rest of the work, lasers of, and salvaging.

i decided not to lower def for more dps.
as said before, salvaging on the fly is now the most time consuming part, and raising dps even more, would result in the need of a second tractor beam to keep up with new wrecks.

maybe with 2 high expensive commander hardeners and a slight better armor rep, i can keep def above 800 and raise dps high enough, so that i can sacrifice a tach for a second tractor.

the reason i stick so much to def higher than 800, is quite simple:
i tend to reject crap missions and only accept lucrative ones.
most of those have dps situation where i would have to kill rats quickly to lower incomming dps.

but running missions can become quite boring, and im glad, i can do other things while playing eve and dont have to keep attention all the time.
